This month's mix features the usual collection of new and classic songs from a variety of genres. We can't stop listening to "When I Get My Hands on You" from The New Basement Tapes (featuring Marcus Mumford's vocals and Elvis Costello on keyboard with a new twist to a Bob Dylan song) or the soulful "Motion Animal" from crash.
On the "sunny" side of things, Sunny Levine gives us the etheral "Runnin Through My Dreams" while Sunny War gives us the mournfully acoustic track "Boom Boom."
Tony Allen's "Boat Journey" brings us back to the vintage African soul sound from the 1970's and Willie West & The High Society Brothers sounds like a cross between the band Chicago and Curtis Mayfield (in a very good way!). Another new song with a vintage feel is "Plastic" from Moses Sumney. Great stuff.
We are also excited about new songs from several up and coming acts such at Cathedrals ("Unbound"), Hollywood Principle ("Find Me Out") and Nahko and Medicine for the People ("Wash it Away").
This is the stuff keeping our turntables busy this December.
