We love discovering new bands and artists and sharing their music with our friends and followers. Here's a mix of great music from artists that we think are about to break out big time. (Our rather unscientific eligibility criteria for this list is that band has to have fewer than 5,000 current followers on Spotify...and, of course, the music must be great.)
Some of our favorites: We kickoff the mix with a fantastic track from Brisbane-based Thelma Plum (we particularly dig the Link Wray-like guitar layered under her sweet vocals). Next up is "Jane," another guitar-driven song from the ever-awesome Girlpool. "In Dreams" (featured on the web series "High Maintenance") sounds a bit like a cross between Jose Gonzalez and The Shins...in a very good way. The artist, tomemitsu, is our current obsession. Hydrogen Sea's "Leave a Mark" is a mix of sultry vocals and sparkling rhythms that leaves us breathless. Ivy Levan is on CherryTree Records and we guarantee you will be hearing a lot from her in 2015. For some good old fashioned fun, check out Kero Kero Bonito and the great track "Intro Bonito." We also can't stop listening to "Growing Up" from the fantastic Run River North, "Oh North" from Blue Rose Code and the dreamy "Hanging By a Thread" from Frida Sundemo.

Unless you grew up in Africa during the 1970s and 1980s, this collection of vintage African soul songs probably will be new to you. Trust us though! We've gathered some of the funkiest and most soulful cuts that we could find. A great listen for all and some fine beats just waiting to be sampled by our DJ friends.
We are proud to present Volume 20 of our Unsigned Finds series of playlists. We've searched far and wide for some great new, DIY and unsigned sounds. Which band will be the next new thing? We love the tracks by Miss Quincy, The Last Skeptik and Luke Wylde and the Japes!
